SMALL BUSINESS COUNCIL

The Small Business Council is a group of dedicated member volunteers whose primary objective is to plan and execute the Chamber’s Small Business Program. This includes activities funded by the CareerSource Flagler-Volusia small business grant, which is administered by the Chamber.
The Small Business Council is the leader on the following Chamber initiatives:
- Monthly Small Business Seminars at Daytona State College
- Annual Small Business Expo
- Annual Entrepreneur Conference
- Strengthen My Business Scholarship
- Business Connections Expo
Led by Chair Dr. Maria Dowling (KMDN Global Business Services), the Small Business Council meets once per month at the Chamber offices on the 2nd Wednesday at 2 p.m.

Dr. Maria Dowling, KMDN Global Business Partners (Chairperson)
Dr. Maria Dowling is a visionary leader and renowned expert in the field of business management and psychology. She is one of the founders of KMDN Global Business Partners, a full-service management firm of highly experienced talented professionals offering a comprehensive range of management consulting services; including strategic planning, organizational design, operational improvement, change management, talent management and more.
As a visionary leader and expert in her field, Dr. Maria holds a doctorate degree in Psychology with a Neuroscience specialization, Masters in Neuropharmacology and MBA as well as various national certifications. With over 25 years of hands-on experience, Dr. Maria has worked with entrepreneurs, small to midsize businesses and corporations from around the world. Her diverse experience and unique ability to integrate a multi-disciplinary approach which includes science and research-based strategies is what sets her apart.

Lisa grew up in Barbados and currently reside in Palm Coast, Florida. She earned her Master’s in Business Administration MBA from Florida International University. Lisa wears a lot of hats, wife, mother, musician, business owner and community volunteer. As a licensed Financial Professional, her goal is to help families navigate the various stages of life. and guide them to build a legacy of generational wealth. Lisa specializes in college funding, Retirement Planning, Business Strategies, Annuities, Life Insurance, Disability and Long-Term Care Strategies. She designs a strategy that aligns with her client’s specific vision, values, and goals.
