Chamber Members Provide Career Advice to Hundreds of BTMS Students

In partnership with the Junior Chamber of Commerce and Buddy Taylor Middle School, two Palm Coast-Flagler Regional Chamber members joined Chamber President & CEO Greg Blose to provide inspiration and career advice to hundreds of 8th grade students.

Welcomed and introduced by Buddy Taylor Middle School Principal Cara Cronk, the Chamber’s presentation featured Walker Douglas (Junior Chamber Board Member representing Douglas Property & Development) and Erik Libby (recent FPC graduate, entrepreneur & Founder of the To Do Dudes).

Students heard inspirational messages from Walker Douglas on following the traditional career path, featuring earning a degree in college. Walker shared his story and urged students to also have a “Plan B” ready, just in case. Erik Libby shared his experience as a young entrepreneur and encouraged students to focus and work hard on their career path choice.

Chamber President Greg Blose shared that the job market is always changing and urged students to be prepared to continue their education, even if college is not in their future. “You will need education to build your skills. Whether that’s a degree program, technical training or a certification, a successful future is usually one in which you continue your education beyond high school.”
