Flagler Eclipses 51,000 Employed Residents w/ Strong Hiring
Flagler County’s unemployment rate increased slightly to 3.6%, according to the June 2023 data release from the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, up from 3.3% in May 2023.
“As predicted, Flagler County experienced significant hiring last month, which shows our local economy continues to grow,” said Greg Blosé, President & CEO, Palm Coast-Flagler Regional Chamber of Commerce. “We also eclipsed 51,000 total Flagler residents employed. Just four months ago, Flagler passed 50,000 residents employed. Looking back on the past 12 months (June 2022), 2,356 more residents are working.”
The number of Flagler County residents that are employed (either working in this county or another county) increased from 50,523 in May 2023 to 51,022 in June 2023, an increase of 499 residents.
The number of unemployed job-seeking residents in Flagler County also increased, measuring 1,921 in June 2023, up from 1,733 in May 2023, an increase of 188 residents from last month’s report.
The Flagler County labor force grew slightly month-over-month, with 52,943 in June 2023, an increase of 687 residents.
