Flagler County is in “good shape” after Hurricane Idalia made landfall as a Category 4 major hurricane near Florida’s big bend on the west coast early this morning (8-30-23).
The Palm Coast-Flagler Regional Chamber of Commerce can report Flagler County impacts throughout the rest of today are expected to be limited to intermittent rain and sustained winds of approximately 20 MPH. Below are additional updates based on the Flagler County Emergency Operations Center briefing this morning:
- High tide is expected around 1 p.m., which is when flooding may occur in coastal and low-lying areas.
- Rain accumulation is expected to range between approximately 1-2 inches.
- Wind gusts are expected to subside around 8 p.m. this evening.
- Shelters will be depopulated later this morning.
- Only 40 Flagler County residents are currently without power, according to Florida Power & Light.
