Daytona State College is breaking ground on a Student Residence Hall this afternoon at its Daytona Beach Campus. Projected to open in August 2022, this four story, 252-bed facility will be located on the Daytona Beach Campus.

This begins a new chapter in the life of the College and aligns with its mission of open access and affordability. The residence hall will be within reach for all students, including those on financial aid and scholarships.

The campus already has the infrastructure in place for a full college residential experience, and includes amenities such as a dining facility with meal plans, a fitness center, pool, gaming and recreational areas. Student housing is projected to increase student retention because support services such as tutoring, the library, Writing Center, Academic Support Center, and Career Services, will all be nearby.

Speakers at the event include Dr. Tom LoBasso, DSC President; Dr. Randy Howard, DSC District Board of Trustees Chair; Garry Lubi, DSC District Board of Trustees member and DSC Housing Corporation Chair; and Angel Limardo, DSC student-athlete.
