Did you know women are the majority of the population in Flagler County? Approximately 52% of our local population are women. Yet, women make up only 46.4% of the Flagler County workforce and 40% of local business owners. Is this good enough?
The above is an example of the data and questions presented by Palm Coast-Flagler Regional Chamber President & CEO Greg Blose at the June Business for Breakfast event hosted by the Professional Women of Flagler County (PWFC). The Chamber also highlighted how, for the first time in the history of Flagler County, both the City of Palm Coast and Flagler County Government are led by women. The Chamber’s Board of Directors currently includes four women, and an additional five women lead PCF Chamber volunteer committees.
Interestingly enough, Flagler County boasts more women business owners than both St. Johns County to our North and Volusia County to our South.
The Chamber thanks PWFC for inviting us to share our research and perspectives on women in the workforce and the future of Flagler County.
