The State of Palm Coast’s Roads

At the May 10, 2022, Palm Coast City Council workshop, the Chamber heard a presentation from the City of Palm Coast executive staff on maintaining the city’s 1,126 lane miles of roads, which has an estimated value of $846 million. City staff is actively studying our local roads, and the below 20-minute presentation will provide everything you need to know about the condition of our local roadways.

Especially interesting is the technology being used to help assess our local roadway conditions. The picture above is of a truck that drove all Palm Coast city streets and with the help of LIDAR and 7,000 lasers, the City is able to better understand which roads need to be resurfaced immediately because of deteriorating conditions.

The Palm Coast City Council will continue to discuss road resurfacing and funding in the coming months.
