After former Mayor Milissa Holland’s resignation as Mayor, the Palm Coast City Council voted unanimously to set a Special Election for the Mayor of Palm Coast seat for Tuesday, July 27, 2021. The City Council did not waive any rules for candidates to qualify for the election.

Earlier in the meeting, the City Council could not come to a consensus who would be acting Vice Mayor, as Palm Coast City Council Member and Vice Mayor Eddie Branquinho, already having plans to travel abroad beginning tomorrow (5/20/21), may not be able to be physically present to execute the duties as Vice Mayor. If a City Council meeting occurs, Council Member Nick Klufas, the next most senior member of the City Council, will act as Acting Vice Mayor.

The Palm Coast-Flagler Regional Chamber will continue to keep business leaders informed of the latest developments on this major local story.
